The Public Works Group is composed of the senior works
executives from each council. Their area of attention relates to
capital works, road building and maintenance, asset development and
maintenance and other associated activity. The Group has recently
developed the policy framework and protocols for road restorations,
public lighting code and contracts for road re-sheeting and
maintenance.
Current Activities
The forward program for this Group will encompass:
- development of Standards for uniform Department of Local
Government Reporting
- development of Standards and implementation of the Regional
Bike Plan Program
- development of a new road re-sheeting contract
- management of the Streetlighting Improvement Program
- development of options for Shared Facilities
- integration of activity within an overall Environmental
Program
